Meet Our Nurse

My name is Emily Burney, and I am the Nurse at Westchester. I am starting my ninth year at Westchester, however, I have been a nurse for 17 years. Wow, I had no idea it had been that long! Before coming to WE, I was a nurse at Mercy Hospital on the Mother/Baby floor. I absolutely loved caring for moms and helping them get to know their new baby! I may have even taken care of a few moms and Westchester kids! I have also worked on a med/surg floor, an OB clinic and a family practice clinic.

What I enjoy most about working at Westchester, is getting to know all of the students. It is fun to watch them grow from a Kindergartner who may have made far too many unnecessary visits, to a big Fifth grader, who will hardly come in for a knee abrasion that actually needs cleaned.

I have nine year old twins, who keep me busy running around. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, going on walks, learning to play golf, making all things sourdough and looking for the next travel destination!

I'm looking forward to a great school year, and can't wait to see new and familiar faces.
