Counseling Services
The counseling program at Westchester Elementary School is dedicated to supporting the social, emotional, and academic success of every student. Following the Missouri Comprehensive School Counseling Program, our school counselors provide a structured, research- and evidence-based framework designed to meet the developmental needs of all students. They work closely with students, families, and staff to create a nurturing and inclusive environment where children can thrive. Services include classroom lessons on social skills and emotional literacy, small group sessions focusing on topics such as friendship, coping strategies, and conflict resolution, as well as short-term individual counseling to support students facing personal challenges. The counselors also collaborate with staff and families to identify and address student needs early and facilitate special programs that promote a positive school climate and mental wellness. For more information or to connect with your child’s counselor, please contact Courtney Wilson (grades K, 2, and 4) at extension 6040, or Nour Alhiyari (grades 1, 3, and 5) at extension 6043.
