Attendance

The more time that students attend school, the more they learn!  Our goal is to have 95% of our students at school for 95% of our designated school time.  If your child will be absent from school, please contact the office by phone or email as soon as possible.  In your communication, please include the following:

  • Parent/Guardian first and last name
  • Child's first and last name
  • The reason for the absence or late arrival
  • Parent/guardian phone number

Late Arrivals
If a student arrives at school after 8:40 am, they will marked tardy and a parent/guardian will need to come  into the main office to sign them in.

Early Dismissals
If you need to pick up your child early, please come to the front office, where the secretary will verify your identity and call your child to the office.  Students who need to leave early should be picked up by 3:15 pm.

Attendance Reporting Policy
One of our responsibilities is to monitor student attendance and keep families abreast of their child's absences and tardies.  Periodically, we will run attendance and tardy reports and will notify families at the following thresholds:

  • 5 total absences (excused or unexcused)
  • 10 total absences (excused or unexcused)
  • 15 total absences (excused or unexcused)
  • more than 15 total absences (excused or unexcused)
  • excessive tardies

If you receive a letter stating higher than expected tardies or absences, a principal, counselor, or social worker may reach out to schedule an attendance meeting.
